Riddlesdown Summer Fest 2026

Due to the hot weather, this event has been cancelled.

Riddlesdown Summer Festival Cancelled Due to Heat Warning

Learning Stages, in partnership with Riddlesdown School, has announced the cancellation of the Riddlesdown Summer Festival, which had been due to take place this Sunday, 12 July.

The decision follows an Amber Heat-Health Alert issued by the UK Health Security Agency, covering southern and eastern England — including Bexleyheath and Greater London — and remaining in effect until 9:00 PM BST on Sunday. Forecasts indicate the weekend will remain very hot and dry, with conditions expected to pose a significant risk to public health. The advice is to avoid direct sunlight during the hottest parts of the late morning and afternoon.

Given that the festival is an outdoor event expected to draw families and children, organisers have taken the decision to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of attendees, performers, volunteers and staff.

“We know how much work has gone into this festival, and how much families were looking forward to it, but with an Amber Heat-Health Alert in place across the region, we simply can’t put people’s safety at risk. We’re disappointed, but we know it’s the right call.” -Peter Moreton, Learning Stages Director.

All ticket holders will receive an automatic refund. The festival will not be rescheduled this year, but we are already looking ahead to returning next year “bigger and better.”

Thank you for your continued support, especially the RDWN Creators who spent the year designing and curating the event.
